About Hereford
Hereford is a county town of Herefordshire, England. It is located on the River Wye and approximately 16 miles east of the border with Wales, 21 miles southwest of Worcester and 23 miles of Gloucester. The town has an estimate population of 54,842 and it is the largest settlement in the county. Historically the city has been the county town of Herefordshire but since 1974 it was merged with Worcestershire to become part of the county of Hereford and Worcester and it Hereford became the district of the county.
