The Times is a tabloid format newspaper distributed throughout the UK since 1785. The newspaper also has a sister paper The Sunday Times and both are published by Times Newspapers Limited. The newspaper was originally printed in broadsheet format for 219 years, but switched to tabloid format in 2004. This was an attempt to attract younger readers and partly to appeal to commuters using public transport.
