Facebook Pages for Business – 2010 sees end of FBML

Since we have always got a ear to the ground listening out for any Facebook moves and shakes, we have been alerted to the fact at that at the end of 2010 we will waive goodbye to Facebook Markup Language FBML.

Facebook has recommend us all to use iframes instead!! So you know all those really good Facebook corporate pages what have been built using FBML they could have been done a lot easier in iframes.

Whilst thinking about how this affects our current clients facebook pages we pay homage to some our FBML favorites:

Facebook Open Graph – The tech behind the ‘like’

For most people Facebook is a neat social networking site that they can catch up on all their friends gossip, maybe share a couple of pictures or maybe write some funny quips on a friends walls.

However for us tech’s we are as more likely to sign into Facebook for Developers than just our walls. Anyone and everyone has seen the social bookmarks on website which isn’t new, however Facebook have now taken this one step further with Facebook Like – With open graph support. So when you click on ‘Like’ now on someone 3rd party website this then makes the 3rd party website into a Facebook page automatically which is pretty neat.

So now when someone clicks on your ‘Like’ button, your page will be in your users Facebook Search and you can also target these people a lot easier with Facebook advertising
