Google Maps Photo Facelift

All those Google Maps users might have noticed Google has been a little busy and updated the design of the photo layer over the last couple of days. The new face lift is a big improvement so well done Google on this one! You can now see the map behind the photos when you tick the photo layer option under the ‘more’ button. Since I use Googles Panoramio photos on my maps, it did annoy me that I could never see the map behind all the photos.

The only downside to the update is when you hover over each photo it is supposed to give you an informative popup, but Googles Panoramio users haven’t really tagged the photos with much info so most of the photos have “untitled” listed. However, knowing Google they will only start using photos that have all the data included to force users to be insightful when uploading to Panoramio.
