Facebook is now finally giving users the ability to download all the personal information that they have posted to the site. The users will also be able to see how this information is being used by individual applications.
You can access all your information data via account settings and by clicking on “Download your information”. You will get all your information on a Zip file including status updates, wall posts, profile information and photos.
Facebook will soon be launching a dashboard for easy usability where users will be able to see how their information is being shared within application and when it was last accessed.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has acknowledged that they have heard users “loud and clear” that users want greater control over what they share on Facebook.
Mark said: “We’re taking a few important steps forward towards giving you precise controls. We hope these tools bring you more confidence as you share things on Facebook, and that your experience grows richer and more real as a result.”
