Adobe AIR runtime gives the ability to developers to build standalone Internet applications that can run on multiple platform. It is a key component of Adobe Flash platform, which enables developers to reuse existing code to quickly build applications that run outside the browsers, and also across multiple screens, devices and platforms.
Today Adobe posted the AIR for Android market, therefore enabling developers to distribute their applications to Android smartphone and tablets.
